At the start of his teen years, already a world traveler by age 15, introduced to arts and entertainment by globe trotting journalist and author parents, Matthew Taylor first entered the film & television industry as a young actor. But with a passion to experiment and explore all aspects possible in filmmaking, he spent the next several decades as a multi-talented creator, technician, and performer combined.
Based in his native home of Toronto for short periods only, Matthew has also spent many years abroad, settling and working in Ireland, Germany, Kenya, with a return to Canada through Vancouver and finally Montreal. With this rich and varied life experience, centered always around filmmaking, Matthew found membership and work through multiple unions: AFBS, AITSE, DGC and ACTRA.
In addition to being a versatile and working actor on camera, as well as voice, a life immersed in literature and art, and developing his interests and his creative projects, Matthew is a multiple award winning short film director and has professional credits is a produced screenwriter, camera assistant, art director, assistant director and highly accomplished storyboard artist whose combined experience with over 150 professional credits are the foundation to his work as a passionate and committed performer. Matthew lives and works in Montreal and is currently producing independent projects while writing a book of short stories to be published in the spring of 2019.
